Joroframe: 21 years and counting...

I was rummaging through my boxes of files ( and anik-anik na kalat) this morning when I chanced upon my old pictures and found one which brought a smile to my face: it’s JOROFRAME’S a-year-after-highschool-pix... come to think of it...today is  exactly 1 month before our 21st anniversary as a group!
JOROFRAME STUFF stands for:

JOcelyn Joy G. Lacap ( Joy ,now, Mrs. Carmelo Valenzuela)...one of the two beauty queens in the group. Laging pinipilahan ng mga manliligaw since we were in our freshmen years. The FACE of joroframe.

ROFil Mae E. Moscoso (Chiclet, now, Mrs. Jose Nelson Rillo)...yours truly, ang exotic beauty ng grupo! Hehehe,na-frontliner tuwing may umaapi sa aming lima ( war freak buh?!)The BODY of Joroframe. (well, that’s before having 3 kids!)

FRAnces Marie C. Sales (Che-Che, now, Mrs. Don Garcia)...ang kukompleto sa dalawang beauty queen namin. Always a head turner in the crowd. Kambal ni Hahnee san man magpunta. The CHARM of Joroframe

RAzzia Hahn Olermo. (Hahnee, now, Ms. Olermo PA RIN!) The Chinese-looking na hindi naman Chinese sa aming lima. Ang joker ever na breakdancer-turned-model... sumakay ka pah! The HUMOR of Joroframe. And last but not the least,

MEriam T. Bandolon.(Em-em,now , Mrs. Joel Chua) Ang aming valedictorian na laging late san man kami magpunta! The BRAIN of joroframe.

The group was officially formed last March 16, 1990, sealed with a HORSESHOE Ring each of us bought at Gaisano Mall. Nah, di pa naman uso si Vice Ganda ng mga panahong yun....yun lang talaga ang nakayanan naming bilhin sa kakarampot na allowance na meron kami!

We were just like any typical high school ghurl group. Imagine the five of us wearing the same style of Hair Clips ( Color coded nga lang), sporting the same brand and cut of shorts ( courtesy of Mommy Nancy: pasalubong from her Hong Kong trip),using that famous Black Joroframe Bag with the bleeding rose patch ( donated by Zondrex and designed by dagis!)....nyahahhaha....at complete attendance sa pag-o-over- the- bakod either to watch a new concert of our then fave band: NKOTB, or to play BOWLINGand BILLIARDS at Dover Lanes wearing our favorite GRAY SKIRT that we call uniform in MSU!

The five of us used to dream of having our own business together which we will name : MERAZ CHELACHIC NUTS AND ICE CREAMS. Why that name? ( asim!)

Before I knew it, I was happily reminiscing na  pala the happy times  of my high school days. The pajama party right after the prom,  those times when Popsy, Tito boy & Daddy Rolly would take turns in driving us home after a birthday party ( ke birthday ng nanay, tatay, tito, tita,o kapatid ng isa sa amin!) Remember MINGGAY AWOK, gurlz? And the “sampalan sa may sagingan” story which was soooo blown out of proportion?! Nyahahahahaha....

Has it really been TWENTY-ONE LONG YEARS? Grabe! Don’t you just feel blessed to have friends whom you know you can always count on despite the distance? Yun bang alam mo na nanjan lang sila, kahit di kayo gaanong nag-t-txt o nagtatawagan? Yung alam mong in spirit they are just there ( parang MULTO, katakot!)

Hayz....saya. Kakatuwang gunitain muli ang masasayang araw. Thanks for the gift of friendship girls. Cheers to us for sharing 21 wonderful years of true friendship!!! Iloveyou! Mwaaah!Mwaaah!

Wag kang MD!

My brothers recently rushed my sister in law to the hospital suspecting she has just suffered some kind of stroke. She was immediately attended to by the ER personnel of St. Elizabeth Hospital.

By the time Poppy and I arrived at the emergency room, she already had all sorts of tubes attached to her body and there was blood all over her face (caused by the procedure they had to do). My son Nico , who was sitting at the bedside was already shaking and crying, fearing for the life of his tita.

My eyes searched for my Kuya. He was sitting outside the ER .Malayo ang tingin, wala namang tinatanaw.

I have learned that Ate Lorna just had a highblood attack or something earlier that day. They did all sorts of stuff they could think of to make her feel better but nothing seemed to help her.

Later that night, we were informed that somebody gave her ASPILET ( a brand of aspirin ).
" Amo man na siya ang gina-tumar ko kun ma-highblood man ako". The usual statement you hear from your friendly neighborhood MD- Murag doktor!

We really appreciate the concern but unfortunately, the doctor said, ASPIRIN is good for the heart but it can cause bleeding  in your brain!...At yun na nga! The CT Scan showed that a portion of her left and right brain is Bleeding!

This is really unfortunate. My heart bleeds to see her in her hospital bed with all those tubes attached to her body.

So if you happen to know a person  whom you suspect to have a stroke, WAG KANG MD!

Here's what you should do in case you suspect that a person is hypertensive:
  • Be calm.
  • Do not give a suspected stroke victim anything to eat or drink
  • Do not permit the victim to move
  • Lay the patient down with head and shoulders slightly elevated
  • If patient is not breathing well do a CPR
  • Place the patient on the left side if breathing/not responsive
  • Keep the chin slightly extended
  • And more importantly, CALL FOR MEDICAL HELP!

As of press time, my sister in law is still in the hospital, intubated. Please help us pray for her fast recovery.

The Joys of Being Jobless

Its been a month now since my partners and I agreed to bring our little "Try-lang-business" to the shelves. I found myself enjoying my time in bed! Wow! That's what you call, LUXURY! I get to spend more time with my soft pillows nowadays! Come to think of it, for the past few years, I've been working like a mad dog...

There are few things in life that i get to enjoy "again", being the Jobless Mom that I am right now:
  • I get to braid my daughter's TANGLED hair every morning.
  • HHWW (holding hands while walking) with Bebe Miles as we walk to the kanto for his daily sikad ride.
  • Make them "esgetti" on weekends ( if the budget allows)
  • Bathe the dogs...enjoy the lather...tiris the fleas (yuck!)
  • Buff the floor ...cheap way to shed off those extra pounds...i need more effort on this though. (whew!)
  • Change the yellow curtains to pink!
  • Pop the corn, let the ice tea flow and turn on the television hanggang ma-memorize mo na ang lahat ng TVC!
I wonder...how long do I want to ENJOY these stuff? ...how much longer will my Louis Vuitton Imitation wallet  permit me to do so...the well is drying up, but what the heck! I get to enjoy my children back again! There are some things money just cant buy!
